Δeltakappadesign
Meet Δeltakappadesign, a company run by twin sisters Dimitra and Katerina Tzivelos, and the unique works of art they create.
Discovery
Greek beaches are legendary, their shores lapped by turquoise waters and scattered with pristine stones baked by sunlight.
Deltakappadesign’s signature item is a honed, white pebble embossed with a hand painted design in smooth black ink, very distinctive and very Grecian.
A collaboration between the twin sisters Dimitra and Katerina Tzivelos, who combined their love for art and design, the company was created in 2016 and is based in Athens.

Dimitra creates emblematic designs while Katerina, an interior designer, translates them into objects while also handling the company’s promotional needs.
When Dimitra gets inspired by an image, she transposes it with pencil onto paper, then divides the whole creation into parts and which she then combines. Afterwards, the piece is cut by hand and transposed onto another paper, a process which renders it special.
Using the black and white technique, Dimitra has created a collection of original works of art and giclée prints, inspired by the animal kingdom, the marine world, Greek tradition and architecture and ancient Greece. The collection also includes a line of decorative stones and graphics applied on plexiglass.
All of Δeltakappadesign’s designs are meticulously researched, recognised for their high aesthetics and quality and are available in limited numbers.

All of the company’s creations are realized and produced in Greece in collaboration with selected ceramists, framers and other craftsmen, always with the supervision of the founders.
At A Magic Cabinet you can find ceramic vases, leather bookmarks, a bespoke collection of notebooks made of ecological paper and embellished with custom made designs, and the hand-decorated sea stones made specially for us.
We are proud to say that Dimitra and Katerina created the stones which served as VIP invitations which A Magic Cabinet sponsored to Mary Katrantzou’s fashion show at the Temple of Poseidon in October.
Memory
The twin sisters were born in a family of architects giving them plenty of artistic slope. Their uncle was Christos Tzivelos, a renowned painter and sculptor.
Katerina studied architectural design and decoration and Dimitra completed her Fine Art studies before continuing with graduate studies abroad.
After Katerina worked in various architects’ offices, such as her father’s, while Dimitra, stopped working in anything relevant to her field and worked as a company telephone operator.
Both of them felt like they were wasting their energy doing work that did not satisfy them and after long conversations, decided to found Δeltakappadesign.
Since their initial goal was to showcase Dimitra’s work, her designs made using a radiograph were transformed into digital prints. After about two years, they started printing these designs on ceramics, t-shirts, unisex clutches and stationery. They aim to expand to additional applications in the near future.
There are very few artisans who apply graphic designs to objects and, by taking advantage of their connections, they began collaborating with various shops in Athens and in the Greek islands.

Narration
Dimitra and Katerina love Paros so much that they call it “their island.” This beautiful cycladic island was a source of inspiration for most of their creations, especially the pebbles.
Everything is a source of inspiration for the two sisters; the animal kingdom, portraits, insects, anatomy, but above all, their clients’ comments.
Their devotion to visual creativity has made an impact on the Greek design scene providing vibrant addition to a beautiful home.
