Verolive
Innovative and natural cosmetics brand, Verolive, has arrived to change your daily beauty routine.
Discovery
It is always exciting and very satisfying to have producers reach out to our site. Verolive approached us just after I had returned from a bewitching trip to Morocco where a herbal pharmacy in Marrakesh had recommended prickly pear oil for the skin.
This innovative Cretan company incorporates the extract of this plant oil whose spikes seem so lethal into one of their creams so I was immediately convinced to include them as a brand.
Verolive was founded in 2010 in Heraklion, Crete, by Yiannis Tzortzakakis. They specialise in designing innovative facial, hair and body cosmetics, made from exceptional organic ingredients, including Cretan honey and olive oil.
Their aim is to package Crete’s treasures into creams and potions which nourish and restore. Their production process involves much attention to detail and a respect for nature, the customer, science and innovation.
“Creating something from the ground up, involves a lot of time-consuming research and risk but that’s exactly what makes our products special”, Yiannis says emphatically.

A perfectionist by nature, Yiannis sees every idea through to its fruition.
All their products are made in limited batches guaranteeing the highest quality.
They use environmentally friendly production methods, creating zero waste, and use recyclable packaging. They are against any animal testing and only try out their products on volunteers with clinical evaluation.
A Magic Cabinet stocks their entire range: the nourishing prickly pear body cream, the jasmine moisturiser for both eyes and face, their unique aloe vera body spa cream, a powerful caffeine-rich anti-cellulite cream, a wonderful vanilla and honey moisturising body cream, their foot spa cream, an organic pomegranate body oil, a refreshing green apple facial and eye moisturiser and a hand and nail cream.

Memory
The company was first established as an olive oil producer in 1975 by Yiannis’ father, Michalis, rooted in tradition and true to nature as Cretan olive oil is recognized worldwide for its purity.
Yiannis studied chemical engineering at Federico II University in Naples. On his return, he and his father decided to begin producing handmade soap.
They then moved on to cosmetic production, utilizing carefully sourced prickly pear and aloe vera, while using innovative combinations.
Their favourite creation, which happens to be their best seller too, is the organic aloe body spa cream, known for its wonderful aroma.
Narration
Verolive is a family business that employs four members of staff. The small production facility and their offices are both in the Cretan town of Heraklion.
The producers come from the village of Faneromeni, in the Messara plain, south of there.
This is a huge fertile area, full of olive groves, which produces most of the island’s olive oil. This part of the world doesn’t just produce high quality extra virgin olive oil but is also culturally significant as it is the location of the palace of Phaistos, the second most important Minoan site after Knossos.

What really makes it all worthwhile for Yiannis and his team, when launching a new product, is their customers’ positive feedback.
Their next launch will be a sulphate free shampoo, especially made for dry hair.
Their products have outstanding quality, with creams combining velvety textures and entrancing fragrances across an impressive product range.
