Based in Thessaloniki, Lavish Care stands out as a company passionate about grooming in Greece, offering a compelling product range
Discovery
Barbering, beards and brands to care for them seem to have exploded onto the scene this year –potions and pomades, gels and creams, oils and balms. Placards depicting heavily whiskered men brandishing scissors, razors and hair taming jellies are everywhere. Mykonos, epicenter of Greek island style, now sports a new barber’s shop next to a well known tattoo parlour.
Athens has also been vanquished by this new trend for the hirsute with luxury establishments, sporting on their doorstep the characteristic revolving candy stripe barber’s sign.

What distinguishes Lavish Care from other grooming companies is that its founder, Aristotle Matakoudis, hails from a hairdressing family and is himself a barber!
Lavish Care products are proudly made in Thessaloniki, at the company’s facilities there and enthusiastically collaborate with small Greek producers, who provide, most of all, essential oils that are used in the products. The company is very much a family one, with young and energetic people working together. Their whole philosophy is that of caring and nurturing each and every product like their own child, giving equal attention to all of them.
Narration
Most of the ingredients needed for barber’s products cannot be sourced in Greece so Aristotle regretfully imports them.
He and the brand’s boisterous Sales Director, Stefanos Polyzos, share their passion not only for barbering but also for Greece. The pair have an eccentric and somewhat wacky approach to marketing themselves and Lavish and staunchly praise the efforts of Greek producers to survive during the country’s economic crisis. Their headquarters are based in Thessaloniki’s Thermi, in the industrial area of Triadi, that is now booming and becoming a modern and hip residential area.
