Saristi

Herbs have many therapeutic qualities and can support our general wellbeing. Saristi produce herbal infusions from carefully selected organic herbs without any additives or artificial flavourings

Discovery

My wonderful colleague, Nadia Papanikolaou, here at A Magic Cabinet, brought Saristi to my attention, extolling the quality of its product. Founded in 2018 by Aristi Sarra, the company sells botanical extracts from organic herbs, carefully chosen for their unique qualities that help balance body and soul. Their philosophy is to focus on tranquillity and wellbeing and their aromas produce a sensation of calm and being centered.

The company philosophy is that despite the pace of modern life, we must focus on our wellbeing.

Aristi comes up with the recipes for the infusions and then assigns her botanists the task of relentlessly searching for the best organic herbs. They then come up with unique combinations which energise our senses, while alleviating the damage caused by our hectic lifestyles.

Varied herbal varieties are used without any flavourings or additives.

The Cuore e Mente line comes in cylindrical packaging, is available either in soft muslin tea bags or loose tea and comes in five flavours dedicated to the following prescriptions: digest, vitality, relax, hangover and love.

Cuore e Mente also offers the same range of tastes in aromatic candles.

All the names are carefully chosen to match their herbal concoction. Even the animals depicted on the packaging are there for a reason. The panda is on the “relax” tea packaging, the panther, known for its energy, is on the vitality range, while the “hangover” peacock shows how we can be proud to rid ourselves of toxins.

Saristi have won a number of awards for both their flavours and packaging.

Their aim is not to flood the market but to have their products in stores which will treat them as if they were their own.

Memory

Aristi studied culinary sciences but a health problem guided her focus mindfully towards herbs. She soon saw a remarkable difference in her health, which led to the birth of Saristi four years ago.

What binds Aristi and her team is their desire to see their beloved products grow.

Their initial goal, which they feel they’ve achieved, was to create an aesthetically delightful product, with a pleasant full flavour and with positive health benefits.

Narration

Saristi is a start up, employing ten people and based in Chalandri, a suburb of Athens.  All the herb mixtures are manufactured in a laboratory in Volos, in the region of Thessaly, under the supervision of a Saristi employee.

The biggest difficulty they currently face is convincing Greek consumers who still don’t fully appreciate herbs and their benefits and are solely focused on product price.

There is a growing trend towards infusions though, even in Greece. Saristi receive customer feedback from every point their products are sold at.

Botanicals were always used to enhance wellbeing. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, mentions 400 pharmaceutical substances derived from plants.

Τheophrastus and his two best known works, Enquiry Into Plants and On The Causes Of Plants, advanced botanical science forward from ancient times all the way until the Middle Ages.
