It offers a unique combination of the cosmopolitan and the traditional and is a particular favourite with honeymooners and natural lovers, hikers and especially bird watchers.

Cyprus has always been a hotly fought over part of the Mediterranean.  After suffering a number of invasions, with the most recent being in 1974, and some more recent financial woes, the island always comes out fighting.  The birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite, it has been inhabited for 10,000 years and has therefore an abundance of sites of archaeological and historical interest. The civilisations that made Cyprus their home have all left marks on the island’s culture and food, which is a unique mix of Middle Eastern, Greek and British influences. Despite it being a very popular tourist destination, especially with Northern Europeans, it also has mineral wealth, as well as superb wine and produce. It offers a unique combination of the cosmopolitan and the traditional and is particular favourite with honeymooners and nature lovers, hikers and especially bird watchers.
